Hi,

the Dornier Do.32Z was two-seat version of the Do.32 to
be powered by the 250 h.p. B.M.W. 6022 turboshaft.

this helicopter had to be used by "Bundeswehr"
and to be stored in a Container on backseat of a Jeep,
neede it pull out & assembled by the crew

we know very well the Dornier Do.32K Kiebitz,but here is
anther development from the Do.32,the Do.32u;

The Dornier Do 32U was a German, radio-controlled, lightweight,
foldable helicopter drone developed from the Dornier Do 32 single-
seat ultra-light helicopter reconnaissance system. The Dornier
Do 32U was powered by a MAN-Turbo 6012L turbo-compressor
providing a top speed of 120 kmh and an operating radius of 45 km
and an endurance of fifty minutes flying time.

Dear Boys and Girls, here is a small feature in French about the Dornier Do-132 hot-cycle helicopter which remained a "project". The feature shows a picture of the Dornier Do-132 mock-up and also shows flight-testing of the Dornier Do-32K Kiebitz tethered surveillance helicopter which isn't a "project"......

The feature comes from the 15th April 1968 issue of Aviation Magazine International......

Obviously, to my opinion. Haven't seen this designation before (and would regard this mention still yet
as an irrefutable proof !), but the "Kiebitz" tethered platform started its life as a derivative of the Do 32,
designated at first as Do 32K (K for "kabelgebunden" = tethered). So this designation seems quite plausible
to me, analogous to the Do 231 as a derivative of the Do 31.

Some more pictures and info (in german) on the different iterations of the Kiebitz. Although im having a hard time establishing a clear timeline of the different versions. It was to be used as a radar platform for "primary" reconnaissance. It had some issues with stability (maybe in high winds) so later versions had two additional jets on arms to stabilize it (can be seen in the photo with the truck). It was supplied with fuel through the tether, which limited the height it could operate at. This seems to have been the main factor in its cancellation.

Silent footage from the San Diego Air & Space Museum (SDASM) posted today (23-September-2014) on YouTube of the Dornier 32 apparently on a promotional trip to Washington, D.C. Apparently Ryan was Dornier's partner in promoting the aircraft here in the United States. Aside from flight footage, there is also some interesting footage beginning at approximately the 10 min 15 sec mark of the aircraft being disassembled and stowed back into its trailer.

Its very impressive how small the helicopter is in the folded configuration.
