1739642024022.jpeg Developed from the regular DA62 version, the DA62 MPP is described by the company as "the next largest Diamond Surveillance Aircraft", offering increased performance, space and capability. The fully composite DA62 MPP features the latest in tracking and sensor technology and constitutes a cost-effective, powerful and versatile airborne platform.

There is also a DA62 MPP MSA (Maritime Surveillance Aircraft) variant outfitted with a full Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) suite based on Leonardo’s ATOS (Airborne Tactical Observation and Surveillance) mission system and deliver a single, intuitive operational picture to the crew. Sensor options will also be offered for users who require additional capability, including Leonardo’s SAGE electronic support measures (ESM) system and Spider communications intelligence (COMINT) system. SAGE provides tactical threat awareness and strategic intelligence gathering in the radio-frequency (RF) environment, while Spider can detect, intercept, identify and geo-locate communications of interest.

Yet another variant is the DA62 MPP SurveyStar, developed in In cooperation with partners, Vexcel Imaging, IGI, Somag as well as RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems. Diamond describes it as a "strong and modern European state-of-the-art survey configuration", with extraordinary low noise signature, supported by the on-top exhaust systems, in combination with the low fuel burn fits perfectly to the idea to operate silently and environmentally friendly.

Finally, the DA62 MPP Vanguard is an Environmental Surveillance Aircraft, aquipped with the AI-driven WAMI (wide-area, multi-domain mapping and ISR) sensor TK-8 from Overwatch Imaging, the EO/IR (electro-optical, infrared) camera TC300 from Trakka Systems and the ARTEMIS (Mobile Phone Detection, Location & Communication System) from Smith Myers. Diamond describes it as "perfectly suited for applications such as automated fire mapping, vegetation analyses, flood mapping, wildlife monitoring, oil spill mapping, 3D modeling and many other missions, like border security or search and rescue."

Diamond Aircraft Industries has recently announced a significant enhancement to the DA62 MPP. The maximum take-off mass (MTOM) of the DA62 MPP has been increased, marking a major milestone in the aircraft's operational capabilities. The new MTOM of 2.360 kg represents a 2,5% increase from the previous limit. This enhancement allows for greater payload capacity, enabling operators to carry more fuel or equipment, thereby improving operational efficiency and profitability. The DA62 MPP with the new MTOM is now available for order, with deliveries to begin January 2025.
