Canned tubes, I see.
Interesting design. I recall they were quoted initially as being about 200 million per unit which is very cheap for a new build submarine!
The design could work as a light patrol sub, targeting more traditional surface threats such as arms/drugs interdiction. Although, for that it may need more conventional weapons and/or additional armed borders.
There was alot of speculation when this was announced but nobody seems to have "taken the plunge" and ordered one

Does anyone know anything about these add-on modules they are showing on the DCNS website for the Andrasta?
Looks like conformal modules to carry a diver lockout system, or what looks like a seamine deployment sytem.
As well as a diver module that can replace the torpedo tubes. Interesting concept.
