Hi all,
after the post from Triton about the FANG light tank, I found another DARPA program, similar to the same FANG initiative but non strictly related.
It is a study for e new light tactical vehicle intended mainly for frontiline resupply and medical evacuation.
DARPA started a contest (Experimental Crowd-derived Combat Support Vehicle) on Februay 15, 2011. The winner was Victor Garcia, US Citizen, that won a 7,500 dollars reward. His project was built in only 14 weeks (98 days) by an 'open source' new entry, Local Motors, tha built a prototype in an Arizona workshop. 2nd classified was another US citizen, Marc Senger, and third was Style and Design Studio, French designers, with Sentinel.
The prototype was ready last summer. Nothing was officially said about technical aspects but it is presumed that the XC2V engine is a General Motors one of one of the versions mounted on Corvette.
