Catching on Tartle`s challenge ;) , here goes what I know about this great company`s endeavours on aircraft engine projects. DB had also the "P" prefix to their designs, and I will firstly post some turbojets.

DB-P100, a 13000Kg thrust giant, better known to us as the DB 016;

DB-P85, 6500Kg thrust, a smaller derivative of the 016;

DB-P80, with just 2000Kg.

They all had, as designed, 9-stage axial compressors and 2-stage axial turbines.

The only two DB turbines that went into hardware as far as I have discovered so far are the DB 109-007 bypass engine with counter rotating compressors [a la Griffiths] and the DB 109-021... the former was stated in 1940 but did not run until 1943 and the second is a turboprop version of the Heinkel Hirth 109-011 known as the 2000 hp 109-021 which went to DB after the 011 was abandoned.

how about using the Early German Gas turbines thread here? I have already migrated!

Hi,

I believe this is not correct. The 011 wasn`t abandoned, it`s Heinkel-Hirth turboprop version wasn`t either. I believe heinkel and DB were parallel developments, although very similar. I do not have my books around, but i am almost sure on this.

I am following up some wartime reports on this at moment... so hopefully can add some weight to discussion on this...its not that clear at moment.

Not sure, as principally we are trying to use more specific topics. Perhaps the "Early German gas turbine
development" should be used for the overall development, maybe until 1939 to give an overview ?
