On page 301, this book says:

On January 13, 1942, the Curtiss Engineering Department proposed a radical design, described as a [font=verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif]3-place fighter, consisting of a crew of a pilot and two gunners (one of them firing to the rear) with four .50 caliber guns. It was to have mounted a single Wright Tornado engine with Acrotorque propeller drive, and two Allison engines. It did not proceed beyond the concept stage.[/font]
