The use of satellite pagers and trackers in the army is periodically raised.

Do not confuse it, this is not a GPS tracker that transmits data "via a SIM card", but special devices that work via satellite.

Since all trackers are designed for tourists and travelers, all information from them is transmitted in clear text. Both text and coordinates. And of course, this information can be intercepted by the enemy.

What are the risks
1. if the pager is used by our DRGS from the enemy's frontline rear, this is a direct step towards the failure of the group's task
2.if someone transmits information via a pager from our frontline territory, then most likely no one will immediately shoot at you with art, but they will definitely send a wing for reconnaissance.
3.there are not so many satellite trackers, so if your tracker "showers" coordinates while driving, it will definitely make the enemy want to check what is so important.
4.and of course, you do not need to send a message with the provocative text "Himar has arrived at the point, we are turning around" you risk making friends with Iskander.

What is the zone of interception of messages from the tracker (pager)? Up to 50 kilometers exactly.

This means of communication has many applications in the army, you just need to be aware of the risks.
