Finland, Switzerland, Sweden... you want me to go on, or are you humored enough by now???Show me the "democratic" one, I want to laugh
I'm not sure what you're arguing about to me. All I commented was it wasn't really news that China increased their defense budget by 7.2% this year. Tell me what's new, the sky is blue? All of you are trying to convince me that it is news and "Nondemocratic regimes should be consistently confronted at every level and opportunity". Like okay sure. Halcyon is trying to make it news because the US is supposedly cutting spending, but the US also has been consistently cutting spending for a long time as well so I'm not sure what point he's trying to make? That China is growing militarily? Yeah that's been going on for the past 3 decades, but it's defense expenditure increase is matched to be slightly higher than it's GDP Growth percentage. I don't think it is at all a big deal and not something that needs "confrontation" like you mentioned. Not sure what argument you're trying to make there. I think that dictatorships (which I consider China to be) should *always* be consistently confronted/opposed as a matter of principle.I don't think it is at all a big deal and not something that needs "confrontation" like you mentioned.

And exactly who is that dark mighty overlord enemy that poor mainland China thinks they might have to defend themselves against - Taiwan?I'm not sure what you're arguing about to me.
