Changes of a design of YS-11

Twin engine Biscount ⇒ Avro 748 like shape. ;D
Basically YS-11 was designed by Japanese 5 famous designers, Jiro Horikoshi(Zero, Raiden and Reppu), Hidemasa Kimura(Kokenki, A26(Ki-77), TB, N-62 Eaglet) , Takeo Doi(Ki-61, Ki-91, Ki-60/64), Minoru Ohta(Ki-43, Ki-84), Shizuo Kikuhara(Shiden-kai, Kyofu, 97-shiki large flying boat, 2-shiki large flying boat, PS-1).

There were two plans for YS-11.
RR　タイン : Rolls-Royce Tyne, RR ダート : Rolls-Royce Dart, 全幅 : Span、全長 : Length、主翼面積 : Wing Area、縦横比 : Aspect ratio、胴体外径 : Fuselage outer diameter、エンジン : Engine、離昇出力 : Engine take off power、自重 Empty weight、総重量 : Gross Weight、座席数 Number of Seats、巡航速度 : Cruising speed、航続距離 : Range、滑走路長 : Run way length(Required length?)

I believe there is a typo in text and picture, the aircraft is Vickers Viscount. Have you been using the Cyrillic keyboard layout?

It's interesting to see the evolution of this aircraft. I remember seeing them frequently and often flying into my home airport in Piedmont Airlines colors in the late '70s.

As an aside, when I drove the Jet A fuel truck at Pitt Meadows (CYPK), I once had to refuel a black, chartered Jetstream full of high-risk prisoners destined for a prison near Matsqui, B.C..
