Hi,


the Centrair was a French company,designed and built many sailplanes,it created the
Sup'Air,it was a 5/6 seat low-mid-wing light business aircraft project,powered by one
240 hp Porsche PFM.3200 pusher engine.

That Porsche PFM3200 engine was also offered as an option for Mooney M20L airplanes made in the USA.
Only 40 Mooney M20Ls were manufactured in 1988 and 1989.
The engine was only manufactured between 1988 and 1991 when a series of down-turns in the automotive industry caused Porsche to close that production line. September 17, 2007 Porsche informed the FAA that it was surrendering the type certificate. In March 2009, the FAA issued a special airworthiness directive stating that the engines were still airworthy as long as they were maintained with OEM parts, but with the halt of production, the supply of spare parts dried up. I doubt if any Mooney M20Ls are still flying with Porsche engines..
