Saying that, I distinctively remember reading (and hearing) experts saying that the weather experienced in and around the Falklands at the time of the Falklands War would have prevented conventional carrier operations and the Sea Harrier's unique V/STOL allowed it to fly.......If this is still perceived as being an exceptable analogy, I can't help wonder how many times Phantom II's aboard CVA 01, let alone CVA 02 would have not been permitted to take off, let alone difficulties (and casualties of landings).....RegardsPioneer
