The Buccaneer in Royal Navy service was intended either to deliver a nuclear weapon or later to use Martel missiles against Soviet surface ships.I find the idea of it being equipped to take out enemy airfields completely fictitious. Ark Royal used the type until 1979 and it's only land strike weapon was the standard 1000lb free fall bomb.The RAF opted for the JP233 dispenser as did the German Air Force with the MW1 but this weapon was never carried by its Buccaneers.
