GREAT FIND!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot.

Ditto. A great project, something halfway between a Short C-Class and a Boeing Clipper... Marvelous scans!

According to the text in the original article (not a webclopedia) a landplane version
was also planned...

Is there anyone who haves more about this project ?

It's new for me my dear Lark,

I hope anyone can help.

Hi !
Very intersting aircraft as I love them ! I find the wing looks to B-24 (with a little less aspect ratio ?) and horizontal rectangular stabilizer too. The rudders looks to Boeing 314 ... or Connie with greater area. The 12000-14000 hp (4x3000-3500 hp R-4360 !?) related on Wikipédia are undoubtly undersized on the 3d drawing with little propeller diameter compared with B-50 or Stratocruiser (originaly FIAT 1200-1500 hp ?). That is only my opinion (I must be modest) but I think this flying boat was on the same way of the big French Latécoère or SE 200 : underpowered, too big, too slow, too late ...
Bravo for your expertise and good luck to find another data !

Dear Friends! In the "Museo Aeronautico Caproni di Trento" (Caproni's Aeronautics Museum of Trento) there is a very nice model of the aircraft! I took some pictures, but the light system of the museum is very bad... However I hope you'll like them!

A model of the Reggiane Re.8000 seaplane airliner that was proposed in 1944. The Reggio company was owned by Caproni and construction of the first prototype (of two planned) was to have begun in mid 1946. The all metal design featured two decks with beds to sleep 52 passengers or for daytime flights, 76 - with 10 crew. Also included were a restaurant, bar & meeting room! The wing floats were retractable. Power was to be by four P&W 3,000-3,500hp engines allowing a max takeoff weight of 53,000kg and a range of 5,300km at a cruising speed of 340kph. Photographed in Trento, Italy. 2013.
