BRITISH early post-war ship project

My friend told me that during the first decade after WWII. british navy developed their first (also the last)series of guns--only cruiser and destoryer projects. But these projects can't built because of bad economy situations and the increase of technology. Except for daring class and tiger class.
So where I can find the resources about these never were projects? (๑ó﹏ò๑)
