the Boulton Paul P.96 was a single-engined turret fighter project,intended to Spec.
F18/40,but not all of its variants had a turret,P.96A had no turret but six forward
machine gun,P.96B had aturret with only two forward machine gun,P.96C had a
turret with four forward machine gun,P.96D had no turret but six or four machine
gun.

It seems to be one of the impressions of the Defiant'Special Features' demonstrator
aimed at the P.105 project , but with no proposal number of its own.

No, it is not the P.94 Hesham.
I'll try to explain...

The drawing of the contraprop plane on the site
you cites in your post ,appeared first in Air Enthusiast No.5 Nov.77-Febr.88
and is described in the article text as the 'Special Features' project.
It was intended to develop details for a naval fighter with
either a Rolls Royce Griffon RG5SM or a Bristol Centarus CE12SM engine and Contraprops.

The P.94 proposal was basically a single seat Defiant for speedy production in 1940
with a choise of wing armament.
