So both of these images come from Boeing filed patents, not to mention, they have given many renderings of this specific aircraft on atleast 5 separate occasions (patents include) all of which show top mounted intakes. In the one that speaks to deployable canards above the intakes, it makes specific mention of pressurized air ports to aide in keeping air flow to the intakes during low speed operations.
I have done a quick mock-up of the design just now too, using the above images.
a major problem with the design is that it doesn't have the space to hold a radar in it's nose, and even is not depicted with one as we see cross sectional cut-outs of the aircraft in some Boeing marketing material.

One word. Beautiful. Do you think they are moving more towards unconventional radar systems? I'm not well versed in radar systems but maybe we are missing something.

I mean, B21s are using leading-edge arrays instead of nose arrays. So it's certainly possible that the array is getting put in the leading edge of the wings instead of the nose cone.

Maybe, but I doubt it. I think that this design was something that the phantom works team had at a very basic level before it was no longer considered for NGAD or something, so they gave it over to their marketing team and told them to have fun with it. I think that we'd definitely see NGAD and future fighters with large arrays in the leading edges (think SU-57, F35), but definitely not without a frontal AESA radar, which this obviously lacks.

(for example, look at the bottom of this picture). Just looks like marketing shenanigans to me, a team of 3d modelers who were told to just have fun with a design and make some marketing material out of it.
