TYPICAL of advanced studies undertaken by the Boeing Airplane Co. is one for an unmanned Martian reconnaissance vehicle. The vehicle, shown in an artist's conception, would be assembled and launched from an earth satellite about 400 miles in space. An ion accelerator would provide propulsion sending it into a Martian orbit.
