I wonder if Boeing Model 755-300 proposal predates the waisted fuselage, area ruled "near-sonic" proposals from the early 70s?

I also wonder what sort of turbofan was envisioned? The low bypass JT8D wasn't powerful enough for a tri-jet this size, and most of the contemporary proposals were already high bypass types, which hardly were appropriate.

We are all waiting certain DVDs from Utah...
Anyway, the "waisted" transonic from 1971 were Boeing Model 767 iterations. The ones posted by Gregory are from the 757-767 genealogy.

This twin engine version reminiscent of the Boeing with its full upper deck with no windows never made it pass the drawing board.
