Hello all. I've recently become very interested in the history and development of the BMD series of Soviet/Russian airborne vehicles. I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of models or design sketches of a BMD-5. I've been wondering about this because of an Army Recognition article I came across earlier this week. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Heres the article for reference:

It's really sounding like an updated BMD-4M. Might get the remote turret for the prototypes and parade models, but I'm betting on the production models having the BMP3/BMD4 turret.

It sounds like a shrunk version of the BMP-3 Dragoon and will likely heavier than BMD-4M because of it, if only for improved protection.

A robotic turret is simpler than a manned one. That said, BMD-4M will stay in production for a while, since it's relatively new (less than 8 years old), and the Airborne Forces are still ordering them. VgTZ has their hands full at the moment, as no one has heard anything about BMD-5 since Army 2016.
