Does anyone have information on the designs for Blue Steel that the other firms submitted?
A Vertical Empire:The History of the UK Rocket and Space Programme 1950-1971 by C N Hill says the Vickers design was initially preferred by despite misgivings the contract went to AVRO.
It goes on to say that AVRO had no guided weapons experience and had to create a department from scratch, would this have been the same with the other firms?
