The results speak for themselves.  SpaceX has flown a heavy lift rocket (and returned most of it), has another reusable rocket in serial production, and has effectively upended the industry.  Bezos is still playing with toys by comparison.   As for being an "ego driven maniac" Elon Musk couldn't be further from that description.  Now if you're talking about Richard Branson. . .
