It's generally common on the Flankers
even some Fulcrums have it, even after a massive paint scheme change
as well as on some Japanese aircraft
supposedly the main purpose is to reduce glare for pilots. if so, why don't more aircraft adopt anti glare paint next to the cockpit?
the reverse could also be argued.. if most air forces have figured out a way to reduce glare with out using black paint by the cockpit
then why don't the Flankers and other aircraft abandon this practice?
