Big pictures or attachments?

Sometimes when I have high res pictures (not super high res) I'm torn between imbedding them full-size or attaching them. I can see how full size can be annoying but it does save the time of having to click on a thumbnail. Thoughts?

I don't like full-size images generally.

Full-size images are always very annoying, especially when having to scroll to see the right half or the left half (without ever getting the whole picture). All of this is more time-consuming, less practical and far less elegant than clicking on a thumbnail. That's why I am grateful that over 95% of SPF posts use attachments (my estimate).

If you have a huge image, at least some image hosting sites let you link a smaller version. Include a link that lets people reach the big one, if they want to.
