Pages 27 through 30 descibe the aerodynamic reasons behind the various protuberences and vanes that seem to cover the Hawk.

It would be interesting to read a similar account of the Alpha Jet's development as that airframe seems to manage without those 'bits'.

Crazy theoretical load-out on page 46!

I think those actually Sky Flash rather than AMRAAM. Body diameter seems too large and fins are in revsered order of span compared to AMRAAM.

Re the TCVs mentioned, these were actually known as SMURFs (side-mounted unit - rear fuselage). Barry Pegram, as their originator, inevitably became Papa Smurf.
