Can anyone identify this type of gun emplacement?

Very interesting edwest4

Alas, sadly, I have nothing to contribute, but look forward to what this fine forum usually delivers.

Hi everybody, this is a protectiv shield for the 88 mm gun Flak. A few of them were tested at the air defense school I (FAS I) in Rerik/Wustrow pre WW II.
Best regards Stephan

Great information. Do you have further information about this device? Is it mentioned in a book? As this Panzerturm was constructed to protect the gun there has to be a similar thing to protect the range finder that was part of a heavy flak batterie. Do you also know something about this?
