Are there connection with Bmw 801 and Kinsei -62 of Mitsubishi ? When Focke Wulf 190 A-5 was sent to Japan for evaluation , i suppose that all informations about Bmw 801 was made in Mitsubishi Kinsei 62 of 1560 Hp. Is it possible ? ???
As has been said elsewhere on this board.... the Kinsei radials were an amalgam of Pratt and Whitney and Wright radial features... as the 801 is developed out of the Prattd design licenced in the pre-ww2 era... it is logical that they took features unique to 801 as well!
The Nazi regime was fairly free with sending its aero-tech to Nippon.
The Heinkel He 100/Kawasaki Ki 61 connection is quite obvious, & ( like Hawker & Grumman also)
Kawasaki took a good long appraisal of the BMW installation in the FW 190 for
an efficient/high speed radial set-up - to enable fitting a radial into their machine - as a needful expedient.
