I am looking for technical information on the AN/ARN-85 LORAN-D navigation system, particularly for the better sketches or photos of the cockpit control unit and display panels (if existed). The system was made by Sperry Rand and was used on the F-105D. Because of the reported problems, it was eventually replaced with the ARN-92 LORAN-C/D.
How many waypoints could it store? Did it have numeric keypad and LED display or decade dials (see #23a below)? Was it all solid state and did it employ integrated circuits or magnetic-core memory for its logic circuitry?
If the Loran depicted above was not the AN/ARN-85, then what nomenclature did it bear?
