Hi,

did anyone hear about this series,I don't know if they are three or more volumes ?.

As far as I'm aware there were 4 editions of this book published in 1960, 1968, 1982 & 2004. The 2004 edition was titled 'American Combat Planes of the 20th Century'.

The 2004 edition has 758 + x pages. It includes all combat types (those "designed to attack an enemy with guns, bombs, or rockets.") but doesn't include trainers, transports etc. Experimental types are covered but no unbuilt projects. There is a photo, specifications & some comments for each aircraft (no 3-views).
