The list of badly-conceived flying wing designs in patents seems to be endless ::)

Via my dear Tophe,

Hello Sir - what do you find to be badly-conceived about these designs?

They appear like they would be quite able to fly (even if they'd have less than optimal efficiency).

Are you serious?

Yeah, except for the landing gear configuration / float volume. I don't see any reason why these designs couldn't fly.

It wold be interesting to see how they behave. One thing which wold help is some way to blow a prop or two over each rudder. Embedded engines and prop units above the wing wold do this.

Tails are what "all-wing" designs need, and most of these have tails.

Good question.

Well, some concepts have been re-used both by Boeing-NASA on the "C-Wing" (McMaster-Paisley-Hubert-Kroo-Bofah-Sullivan-Drela) and by Synergy Aircraft
