While some weird dudes are celebrating the epitomized image of an autocrat*, the french AdlAE discretely commemorates one of its hero pilot (Poet and novelist), Mr Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Free French air Force pilot, Croix de Guerre with palms, MIA, with the birth of its most famous character, the Little prince, 75 years ago:

53 French's Alphas to soldier-on past 2023 (aggressor and PAF).

Interestingly this cut the route for the French private aggressor endeavor that could only have access to that plane realistically speaking (last available French airframe for the job).

Bye-bye l'Alpha: France AdlAE retires its fleet of Alphajet trainers. She will still see service with the PAF (French demonstration team) until 2030.

Interestingly, the plane is given retirement at 50 the day the infamous French pension reform is acted!

The epitome of Franco-German aerospace excellence is gone.

The Alphajet MS is a lesser-known variant of the Gadjet intended for Egypt and capable of using Magic & Exocet missiles.
Also used by Cameroon AF.
The MS2 features a laser rangefinder in the nose and the same UNI52 INS, hud and nav attack system as the Mirage 5.

Alphajet MS1 : Variant designed to replace the MiG-15UTIs and L-29s.
Alphajet MS2 : Variant intended to replace the MiG-17s in their role of close air support.

Some pictures of the Cameroonian Alpha Jet MS2 , it is interesting to note that they are kept in hardened shelters.
They were received from France in 1981. Their maintenance is provided by SOFEMA.

Does anyone know a good source site or book that compares the Alpha Jet with its Fiat G91 predecessor in the West German AirForce.
Originally both Italy and Germany wanted the VAK 191 to replace G91. Italy had G91Y then AMX.

I've already posted this photo earlier in the thread.
And, yes, the Egyptian Alphajets are capable of carrying the Exocet, but are they capable of guiding it ? Does it have radar ?

Training Ukrainian pilots for F-16 and M2K combat operations with a small cadre of experimented flight instructors:

France will train 26 pilots in total and this first promotion should experience its baptism of fire next fall. The trainees will therefore follow one another on this basis. The only French base to have an Alpha Jet squadron. Until 2019, Belgian and also French pilots came to train here. The squadron had to be disbanded but the war in Ukraine disrupted this schedule.
The base proved to be the most suitable tool for training Ukrainian pilots, explains instructor Benjamin: “During the last 20 years, we have trained French and Belgian fighter pilots. For French pilots, some were sent on Mirage 2000. Belgian pilots were sent on F-16. The training was strictly the same. In the end, the NATO framework in which we operate as fighter pilots is the same. Whatever your nationality, that you fly on a French aircraft is always just another Western type. If you fly on an F-16, the operation will be essentially the same, that is to say the tactical methods applied will be exactly the same. So our training is completely versatile and covers the entire spectrum of aircraft on which our trainees are likely to fly. »
