AIRSCREW- High speed 500mph UK airscrew

There was a high speed British airscrew with scimitar blades photographed middle fifties
Have seen drawings of D.H. Propellers straight bladed 500mph airscrew.
Has any one details of such and what projects they were intended for.
I believe the Americans did some interesting work at that time.
There was talk of a 500mph thin wing Lockheed Constellation or its development.
Any one has information on airline applications for these 500mph jobs?

well, there were the airscrews fitted to the mixed propulsion fighters like the XF-84H Thunderscreech.
Other than that, I don't remember others.

I've seen a couple of pics of a P-47 fitted with a scimitar bladed prop for high speed tests. I'm sure it was capable of 500 MPH+ in a dive.
