Good pointThe faster you travel the apparently more static appears a drastically slower target.
A bullet doesn't need any staring to catch its target. Same thing for an Hypersonic vehicles. The faster it goes the less escape time for the target, the less offset travel (hard brake, turn), the more reduced need on proximity fuse and terminal manoevring. The more likely to get a kill.
See the Hypersonic weapon as a slow laser.
That is the most impressive thing I have ever read
Boost glider have no fuel to burn, it decelerate graduallyWhat if the aircraft maneuvers to avoid the missile? The missile would have a large turn radius to re-intercept and burn a lot of fuel. There's also the thought of air friction on the internal components when performing maneuvers, things get really hot when they travel hypersonic.

All current long range surface to air missile and air to air missile are like that except ramjet missile like Meteor, you only have once chance to hit the target, if you miss then you miss, there is no re engage like in movieSo one opportunity to engage the target? Sounds like an awfully expensive interceptor.

My mind is completely blown, too. gimme a break: they wanted to kill Tu-22Ms or Tu-160s from ABOVE, with a BALLISTIC MISSILE ??![]()
