I drove through Mojave on Friday afternoon (on my way to Palmdale to see SOFIA) and I kept looking up in the air for any sign of their plane.I have no evidence at all, but I suspect that they're not making much progress at all. The key issue is how few engine tests they've conducted. Before they start with revenue flights, they will have to make dozens of test flights. And as a prelude to those dozens of test flights, they're going to have to ground test the rocket perhaps hundreds of times. And yet they have done less than ten engine tests. People are distracted every time the plane goes up in the air, but they're missing the lack of progress on the ground.
