I found a brief reference to this weapon in a 1973 Defence Operational Analysis Establishment report on effectiveness of counter-air attacks in relation on basing concepts for AST.396. In the report the laser-guided Bullpup is referred to as SALPAM, which may be an abbreviation of SemiActive Laser Point Attack Missile. Was this the programme name for the AGM-83A?
In photo two there is a exhibit card that states " Air-launched laser-guided standoff missile fr close air support and land or sea interdiction. NWC developed Bulldog, the first successful laser-guided missile, using off-the-shelf motors and warheads and a specially designed guidance and control group. Bulldog was approved for service use in 1974 but cancelled in favor of the Maverick."
Attached photos were all taken by me in November 2003.
