Hi,
The AETD (Aero Electronic Technology Dept.)
research, study, test electronic systems.
One of its current activities is to develop
developed the SOSTEL system (Solid State Electric Logic)
which includes a set of weights and dimensions
reduced, easy maintenance, modifications
easy to bring and with great possibilities in combat.
All this is quite vague, because covered by the
secret. The AETD is still working on a new
design of electrical generation and distribution and on various on-board television systems including a special model to operate in very low light.
The problem of the radar antennas of the apparatuses of
recognition of the future preoccupies this department which thinks of a circular antenna surrounding the plane and which would unfold in flight. This antenna would contain a series of transmitter-receivers controlled by computers, the assembly thus replacing the classic rotating antenna contained in the large
radomes of today's ASW aircraft.
Another example of activity: Max engineers
Salmansohn and Dan Lamonica have just put
developed a communications headset system
including a kind of microphone directly applied above the lips, which eliminates external noise. The same is true for headphones. All,
which has no moving parts, bears the name
of NAACH (Non-Acoustic Audio Coupling to the Head), a system in which everything goes through the head. connected to the strings of the instrument...
