I love these designs, and this whole design era. I highly recommend JC Carbonel's French and European Spaceplane Designs, 1964 - 1994 in the French Secret Projects book series. Conveniently, the back cover blurb is even printed over a picture of the STS-2000, which is covered thoroughly. There's a lot of art and design material that I'd never seen before, and this really helped clarify the relationship between some of the confusingly similar designs like the STS-2000, Taranis, and the AGV.

Programme R.A.F. 90 (an early name for Aerospatiale TARANIS) - Future Launchers: A literature review, 1990.
Summary:
"A critical analysis of recent literature and some older references about future reusable launchers with horizontal landing:
-Single stage concepts
-Two-stages and hybrid concepts
We compare architectures and propulsions concepts to restrict the scope of options to investigate by specific studies"
By H. Lacaze, then Aerospatiale's Hermes technical Manager.
An internal french-language Aerospatiale review of various mid-to-late 1980s RLV projects from across the world. This covers the likes of Shuttle II, HOTOL, Sänger... It (sometimes dubiously) uses a "lightening coefficient" to compare how realistic mass estimates of various concepts are. Since it's an Aerospatiale paper, STS 2000 is given particular attention.
