Hi,

Mr. Adolphe Lachassagne began in 1912/13 to built a tandem
wing airplane, called AL-1,and described as "automatically
stable",followed by a AL-2 in same concept,the AL-3,AL-5 & AL-6
were a single seat low-wing ultra-light monoplanes,but
with different engine,AL-7 was a tandem wing in new shape.

A little known about AL-4,it was probably based on AL-3,but
powered by one 25 hp Anzani W engine, and got an accident,
the AL-8 was developed from AL-7,with a tandem two-seat in
enclosed large cabin, remained a Project only.

Doesn't anyone know the year of AL-7's first flight?
Thank you in advance.

BTW, in 1946 this aircraft was mentioned as "new":

Sympathique Lachassagne // Les Ailes. 1946. № 1079. P. 13.

Noting the proximity of wing tips on the AL-7 and AL-8 ... was he hoping to cancel out wing tip vortices?
... like the latest tordoidal propellers recently introduced for motor-boats?

My dear Burunduk,

it's 10 September 1945.

Please note that the Lachassagne AL-7 n°1 (F-WBBN) is now preseved by the Musée Régional de l'Air at Angers, France.

I assume, Retrofit, that is an 'as was' rather than an 'as is', photograph. When last I heard, the AL-7 was dismantled in the storage hangar at Angers-Marcé. Does the magazine give a date and/or location for the photograph?
