AAF Project XC-220

Does anyone have any information/drawings/etc. on this project? I have a sheet of cutaways of the bomb bay but nothing more describing it.

Model Designation Army Aircraft, Eleventh Edition, Jan 1945, lists USAAF Specification XC-220-2A as being for the Douglas A-26 (not sure why, XA-26 was to DS-538). Were there others to XC-220?

BTW, was there even such a thing as a 'plain' A-26? I note that the other 'XC' listings are for cancelled contracts - XC-622-10 for the Republic XP-69 and XC-701-A for the Aircraft Research Corp XBT-11.

There was a 'plain A-26', ordered with serials 42-11754/12253, but these were cancelled. Cannot help you with XC-220.
