What to do about the worldwide Helium shortage?? Guaranteed to put a crimp in the plans for global domination by the Airship industry (did I hear someone mutter "Hindenburg" under their breath?).
I suppose if things turn really desperate they might revert back to good old fashioned hot air but retaining the familiar dirigible cigar envelope configuration but perhaps the industry may seize upon the opportunity to move the technological frontier into the future by borrowing from the space exploration hardware vendors. We're all familiar with radio-isotopic thermoelectric generators so why not use these, or even maybe a sub-critical nuclear reactor for the heat-source.- saves on fuel!
