Just to be sure that I understand the purpose of this list, do you intend to list every aviation-related company with Società or Société in its name? If so, will you also be listing every single firm beginning or ending with 'S.A.'?

No,I intended to speak about Società or Société as a prefix only.

Many thanks my dear Apophenia,and I think we forget SRAP;

- Societe Anonyme Pour la Realisation d'Avions Prototypes = SRAP

Seems a bit like grouping British companies with Ltd in their name, German with Gmbh, or Swedish with AB. 'Societe' alone is completely generic, corresponding simply to 'Company', while 'Societe Anonyme' is roughly Ltd or PLC.

Agreed. And that kind of relates to my point about listing 'SA Thingie' while omitting 'Thingie SA'.

As for the lists themselves, since they are not designation-related, perhaps this is better-suited to the Aviation & Space section?

Sorry, hesham, but I totally fail to see the purpose and/or interest of such an endeavor.
"Société" (with accents, please) is simply French for "company". So what you're asking, in substance, is to list all the companies that are name "Company"! That would probably correspond to half the aviation companies at least!
