In the 30s, the French Air Ministry never launched official competition for High altitude planes.
This is mainly due to the fact that the purpose of technical programs was to allocate funding for research, studies, prototypes in some cases, but above all to put manufacturers in competition to...

A bit more conventional was the system of engines in tandem designed during the German occupation by the engineer Michel Vernisse. It was to power the Arsenal VB.10 fighter by using two Hispano-Suiza H.S. 12Z engines. One of them was installed in the nose of the airplane and the other in the...

Hello there!
I've been trying to find data on French aircraft carrier designs between the Joffre and the Clemenceau (PA-54). I've found plenty of data on the PA-28, but I'm very interested in the supposed PA-25 design from Vichy France and the PA-27, PA-29, PA-31 designs from 1945 onwards...

Hello! I'm currently searching the data about this little guy:
This is BHT-38 (Bombe Hurel-Turck) radio-controlled glide bomb, designed for French military shortly before World War 2. It was supposed to have a weight about 160 kg. Some examples were tested in 1940, but Fall of the France...

Hi,
the French designer,G. R. Hamel was aviator and pilot, and he designed some
heavy civil flying boat projects, his activities started from 1935 up to 1945,he
created a 100,300,400 & 500 ton Projects.
Here is his 100 ton proposal,it was powered by eight engines,in twin fuselage...
SNCAO was a short-lived company originating from the nationalization of Loire-Nieuport and Breguet factories. It had design studies in Issy-les-Moulineaux (former Nieuport), using even numbers (200, 400...), and in Saint-Nazaire (former Loire), using odd numbers.

Hi,
here is some Breguet projects;
Br.24C1 was single seat fighter powered by Lorraine 450 hp engine intended for
the 1923 C1 program.
Br.25C2 was two seat fighter powered by Lorraine 480 hp engine intended for
the 1925 C2 program.
Br.29 was seaplane version of Br.27...
So here's a question I've asked for along time...
We all know that early turbojets apeared in 1937. Whittle and Von Ohain tested their engine on the bench in march, april and september of this year. This led to the Heinkel He 178 in 1939, and Gloster E 28/39 in may 1941.
BUT
Another turbojet...
.. and of course there were the vast numbers of Latécoere
flying boat projects, just have a look at Heshams list in "designation
systems". Just three examples, the Laté 120 from 1940, with four
HS 12Z engines in two tandem installations, the Laté 124 from 1942,
powered by four GR 14R and the...
Arsenal VB.15 ( a version of hte VB.10 powered by two Arsenal 12H engines, french versions of the Jumo 213), this is a post war type.

Have you ever heard about the Zeppelin/SNCASO ZSO 523?
I´ve been trying to find info about it, but it was very hard, all I have is it was a big aircraft with six engines.
