The designations of Fiat and related companies

G-91T/4 sounds like it was developed to the same specification that the MB-326C was aimed at, a trainer for F-104 systems. I know the Aermacchi design never got beyond a mock-up on an early MB-326 airframe, how far did the G-91T/4 get?

    Aermacchi Projects

MB.328 and MB.329 were twin-turboprop business aircraft. The MB.328 had them on the wing while the MB.329 had them mounted on the aft fuselage. I know that there are drawings of these out there, either in a back issue of Aerofan or in a book covering Aermacchi aircraft.

    Leonardo M-346 Thread

Also, to comment briefly on the external differences between M-346 and the Yak-130, the Yak-130 was certainly the starting point but Aermacchi did make substantive aerodynamic changes: https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/flight-test-alenia-aermacchi-m-346-one-stop-warrior-207881/ You...

    Re-equipping the Red Arrows . . .

These sentiments were seen in Italy against the Frecce Tricolori team (that this year turned 60), anyway Italian Air Forces had already traded with Italian Government to replace the aged Aermacchi MB-339A with the brand new Leonardo T-345 in near future.

    New Russian SAT SR-10 trainer

Well, Yak-130 was raped by the Berkut and the SR-10 was born :D I agree that this is the death project. With the hell of a competitors like Yak-130, Aermacchi M346 or T-50 Golden Eagle, even the MAKO HEAT trainer, supported by the giant EADS doesn't have much chances to be realized.

    bristol-alfa romeo engine

Dear Friends, I've been told that the engine in the pic is a De Havilland Ghost, licensed for production in Italy to a consortium of Fiat/Aermacchi/Alfa Romeo in the late forties. Assuming the above for true, this could explain the engine in the Alfa Romeo Portello factory in Milan. I still wait...

    Aermacchi Projects

It was just a part in a major article about M346 in service and the TX proposal. In short it says that Aermacchi started in 1985 the development of an advanced trainer to prepare pilots for 4th gen fighters. They tried contacts with many govs until 1991, but no interest was shown for the...
