What about a RAF F-15. I've read (either in an AeroMilitaria article, or one of Chris' or Tony' books) that the RAF looked at the F-15 but in a two seat variant. It was discarded because the second seat eat into the fuel tankage area but this was before the conformal tanks were developed. Which...
Just a quick question, I've been looking around the internet but I can't find a reference to what the prop-rotor diameter is of the V-280. Anyone know what it is please ?
I don't know, but the timing of the presentation, would seem to me be aimed right at the USA not being involved. What with the present President' stance on isolationism, it would seem to be showing, here's what we can do --
FYI Motorcar, I used a F-86A fuselage, FJ-1 wings and horizontal tail planes, F-82 fin and rudder. I placed the main gear in the same location as on both F-86 and FJ-1 in relation to the fuselage. This moved the wing root back a bit. I also moved the wing wheel bays towards the fuselage so the...
From what I've read about the original straight wing XF-86, no. The references say that was mainly why it wasn't proceeded with. Not until it was redesigned with the swept wing was the performance greatly improved (over 100mph different)
Not sure if this is appropriate in this thread but after seeing a photo of a NA project for the original XP-86 (top pic) I built a model of it but it ended up like in the bottom pics. It is for a Ground Attack version.
The present Canadian Government balked ----- but they hit a snag. They found out that Canada already produces parts for the program and would lose that capability if they withdrew. Reason why the PM is sitting on the pot (pun intended) for so long (only campaign promise he's kept so far is...
This all appeared in the Air-Britain quarterly I subscribe to, Spring or Summer issue 2016. Can't remember who the author was (I'll dig out my magazines and check) but he found it at Kew and published the article with Air-Britain.
EDIT: Summer 2016 edition of Aeromilitaria, article written by...
Nice, interesting you drawn in cuffed prop blades ---- my conversation I've had with David Birch who co-wrote the Rolls Royce Heritage Trust book called RR and the Mustang, said it would have been a De Havilland prop. He also told me it would have been armed with three 20mm cannon. It wouldn't...
Have a look under 'charter' airlines, I've seen an all white 747 with no markings except for some very tiny registration letters at YYC. It turned out to be Isreali
The news reports I've been reading say she was removed from the aircraft unconscious, they had been performing CPR since they pulled her back into the cabin. She may have died on the way to the hospital but the news reports aren't specific.
The school team I played on back then, went to London for a weekend tournament, but of all things it snowed the whole time. To keep us entertained, the team coach took us to see Space Odyssey. Left a lasting impression on me --
