I found this on the internet on a google search for attack helicopters--a strange bitmap illustration of an attack helicopter. I found no source, and it dissapeared of the internet the time I saved it. Strange :o! Has a few too many of supports above the wheels and the gun, I think.

The German engineer Alois Riedly had filed a patent (N°709077) in 1937 for a helicopter using two pairs of intersecting rotors, the two pairs fitted with different rotor shaft angles. Riedl later worked for the Henschel Flugzeugwerke and maybe a project for a helicopter with intersecting rotors...

Shown in an article about tactical air transport in Interavia 7/1952 is the shown method of towing a helicopter by a fixed-wing aircraft, with its rotors autorotating. Was this ever tested in reality ? IMHO it should be feasible, at least theoretically ... ???
