V1N4 covers early development. V1N5 will cover the USAF/NASA 10-meter designs. Further articles down the road will cover lunar logistics versions, 20-meter versions, large orions and Orion descendants.
Yes. I don't have my references here, but Orion was referenced in the press (Av Week, Missiles & Rockets, newspapaers, etc) in 1959 or 1960. Martin cranked out a lot of nuclear pulse artwork (mostly featuring internal detonations) in the same time period.
even Orion swim like Sea Dragon, there is another problem
the waterpressure would compress the shockabsorber bags!
had Cole ever a Idea how Aldebaran had to Take off from the Sea ?
Thanks a lot Orion and Robunos.
There are extreme diferences in price I can't understand for this book at amazon: 38$ to 140$
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b/002-1831596-0624044?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=project+orion&x=0&y=0
So I think I can order that at 38$.
Also claims of another kill by Starstreak on an Orion UAV (the Russian equivalent of Predator). Not sure on this...Orion should be up pretty high...but the wreckage is definitely from one.
Can't post the tweet from The Dead District feed (post 1092) because the preceding post which appears here...
An SSBN could have a couple hundred nukes and everybody seems to be okay with that. A B1-B could have had dozens.
As for Orion, there are many people who would be afraid to go into space. That doesn't make going into space, "silly".
Thanks for the links Michel Van, I am actually surprised that NASA are even considering making EM-1 a manned flight, a lot of things could go wrong on a first flight.
