Can't go through all the projects you mentioned, which span many years and would be off-topic here.
You should use the search engine on the forum, since several of those you listed are well-documented.
However, I'm willing to feature the N-5 "Canard" and N-6 "Windmill" projects, which are more or less contemporary with the N-4 and not often covered. The latter was studied in both high-wing and mid-wing configurations, and even with the propeller in mid-fuselage position.

I don't get it. This was supposed to be a topic on the Northrop N-4.
The earlier Northrop 3-A/FT-1 and the related Vought V-141/-143/-150 make some sense here, but what are the Alpha, Beta and Gamma doing here?

I feel the same

@Justo: about "Structutal ancestors" I could still "aceptar pulpo como animal de compañía" but "Die Deutsche Sportflieger" September 1942 is clearly Off-topic ;)

The solution I propose is cleaning this thread and merging with the Northrop N3A. A new tittle could describe the lineage from Northrop civil ancestors to the final evolution at Vought

Please read my message at your PM box
or is there free online versions of this books?
That is copyright infringement

I actually own both a legal PDF version (from Speciality Press) and the original book. I highly recommend obtaining a legit copy. Tony Chong did an excellent job on it.
