On oceanlinersblog a thread divided in three posts :

Unluckely on third part are missing some images .

I've been wanting to ask a cruise ship question for a while, and this seems to be an appropriate place. Was the hull of the QE2 design based on Yourkevitch's principle?

Random thought as regards the cancelled Oceanic (1928)...Accepting that Lord Kyslant still does not escape being uncovered as a total fraudster...WHAT IF....?
The merger of White Star and Cunard still goes ahead, but slightly earlier...(the downfall of Kyslant precipitating a slightly different set of circumstances, forcing the merger earlier)...
Could Oceanic still be built, with her running mate being Cunard's planned new ship 'Queen Mary'?
BUT...If Oceanic is built with turbines as originally intended, could she, with her revolutionary design and luxurious interiors cause Cunard to modify their plans for Hull number 534 (later Queen Mary) to make her less 'updated Aquatania' and more like the later Queen Elizabeth?
Now that would be an interesting pairing, Oceanic and Queen 'Mary/Elizabeth' against Normandie and, BIG PERHAPS, Bretagne along with Germany's Bremen and Europa...
Of course, there are other vessels... Rex and Conte di Savoia etc I know, but the afore mentioned are the BIG Players in the North Atlantic services...
