Not really a designation list but seemed related. Mods: Please move/delete if inappropriate.

There has been some confusion (not least mine) over Dutch glider designations vs PH-xx registrations. It may help to have a list of pre-war gliders built in the Netherlands.

The following has been gleaned from a complete PH-1 - PH-102 listing on Herman Dekker's "Luchtvaartarchief" site (see http://www.hdekker.info/registermap/Z0.htm for more detailed airframe histories and German-made gliders registered in the Netherlands).

Although a tiny shop, the big maker by volume was NV Vliegtuigbouw with 16 x Grunau Baby IIa and 11 x ESG[-9] by Schneider, 2 x Zögling AZ.1, 2 x Wijkens Universal, 1 x Grunau 8, 1 x Hoekstra H-1, and 1 x Snellen V 20. (The V 20 was a one-off - which is currently undergoing a complete restoration for the Aviodome collection. Snellen was chief designer for NV Vliegtuigbouw, Wijkens was its supervisor.)

Designations are a bit of a muddle. AZ.1 was a local designation but other Dutch-built Zöglings are referred to by the German designation RRG-1. Zeister Zweefvliegtuigfabriek built Zöglings with ZZ-x c/ns although they seem to be otherwise undesignated.

Grunau gliders are referred to as Schneider ESG or ESG 29 rather than Grunau 9. The Rhönbussard is attributed to Schleicher (Alexander Schleicher GmbH was the German manufacturer) but should be DFS (design by Hans Jacobs).

Elsewhere http://www.zweefhist.nl/spinframe.html , I saw reference to a "Fokker glider (Hol) Built from fighter parts". This has not been listed. Not finished? Not registered? Never existed at all?

1 x Snellen V 20. (The V 20 was a one-off - which is currently undergoing a complete restoration for the Aviodome collection.

Actualy, the V20 was recovered from the aviodome collection in 1985 to prevent further damage and is now undergoing a restoration back to flying condition.

So the Snellen V 20 is no longer with the Aviodome collection. Who is performing the restoration?

The restauration is done by its current owner Tonnie Wensing (and team) at Twente airfield near Enschede. I was asked to build the website. I have limited knowledge about the progress.
Website will go live round mid december.
