Hi,

the Weber Aircraft Corp. which was mentioned in Spangenberg,
developed a VTOL aircraft Projects,from WV-1 to WV-4,here is a
drawings to WV-3,and a small info about WV-4,from Air Pictorial

I was curious to find out about the Weber Aircraft WV-1 Vertical Rising Aircraft (VRA), which is mentioned in the Spangenberg Index.
Here is an article that finally sheds some light on this interesting project, submitted to both the Army and Navy for consideration.
The article also shows photos of the XWV-3, which was a sub-scale radio-controlled model.

Burbank, Calif.—Weber Aircraft Corp. is flight-testing a powered model of a new vertical rising aircraft, conventional in appearance but capable of taking off and landing with zero forward speed.
The firm hopes to interest the military services in design and construction of a low-cost research airplane for full-scale flight testing. Preliminarv evaluation by Wright Air Development Center has indicated that both the concept and proposal are “feasible."
Designer of the new aircraft is Joseph L. Velazquez, former project engineer on Piasecki H-16 helicopters and now chief engineer of airplane projects at Weber.
Weber’s design was evolved from basic research done by the National Advisory Committee of Aeronautics, Charles H.. Zimmerman, Louis Bréguet and others.
The Weber aircraft is a conventional fixed-wing aircraft with turboprop engines.
To achieve its vertically rising and hovering capabilities, the design employs extended double flaps to deflect the propeller airstream from horizontal to vertical.

Oddly enough, the WV-4 is described as a "very light fighter-bomber" in the Spangenberg Index, while the item previously shared by hesham in this thread describes it as a cargo airplane... One of these two sources has a typo, but which one?

The following are data reports and proposals by Weber that includes converting an Ercoupe into the WV-1 twin engined test bed. Following that is the proposal for development of the WV-1 through WV4 and at the end will be some mention in a proposal for the WV-5 a C-130 sized four engine transport.

This will be a set of 13 posts nearly all data with the WV-5 drawing on the last set. Which at NARA is a whole different set of hoops to jump through..
