Dear Boys and Girls, here is an article in French on two Northrop "projects" based on the F-5A and/or the T-38. One is to test 5 lift engines in such an airframe and the other is a model of the N-267 "project" with 3 lift-fans in a T-38 airframe......

The article comes from the 1st Febraury 1968 issue of Aviation Magazine International......

Hey great find!!
My main concern about all these VTOL / V/STOL fighter adaptions (or new) designs from both the West & East was the fact that the incorporation of 'dedicated lift jets' were not just dead weight in conventional flight, bit also used critical fuselage space which was otherwise allocated to the aircrafts main fuel storage = shorter range or loss of payload to facilitate the carrying of drop tanks to make up this shortfall!!

Pioneer
